4 bedroom house sleeps 8, between Rome and Naples
This charming 400 year old house is the first in a row of five stone built houses off the main road with little traffic, with the Abruzzo Mountains as your backdrop . The fully equipped open-plan kitchen leads out into a cozy living area with fireplace. The original vaulted ceilings prove for excellent insulation, keeping the place refreshingly cool in the summer. The kitchen is carefully decorated in unique charming country decor and features a hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and everything you’ll need for an evening meal. The ground floor also boasts a recently renovated large bathroom which includes a hydro-massage tub for 2 people, and a washing machine room completes the ground floor.
The first floor includes two spacious connected bedrooms �` one with a double bed, another with 2 single beds. This floor also includes a study, a walk in wardrobe and a bathroom with toilet and multi jet shower. The second floor features two more separate bedrooms and a third bathroom with bath, toilet and bidet. Outside there is a small patio area and parking.
Location
The house is found in a beautiful mountainous area of undiscovered Italy, conveniently situated between Rome and Naples. This beautiful hidden valley, combines traditional mountain tranquillity and/or is ideally situated for exploring the immediate area or daytrips, A ten minute drive from the house takes you to two very well equipped public outdoor swimming pools. There is a waterpark just before Cassino. About 45 minutes away by car is Italy’s newest theme park adjacent to a wonderful designer outlet centre.
Things to do
• such as, Cassino (Montecassino Abbey), the towns of Atina and Sora both built before Rome
• or for daytrips ( Rome, Naples, Pompei, Vesuvis, Capri and the Amalfi Coast)
• Abruzzo National Park is on your doorstep, in winter to ski and in spring/summer trekking
• filled with wonderful restaurants, pizzerias, pubs, artisan shops, bowling, swimming pools �` all the conveniences you need and more.
• A ten minute walk will take you to the nearest restaurant, mini market, chemist and local bar, and the nearby village of Casalattico, has a pizzeria.
• A fifty minute drive takes you to the beautiful beaches of Gaeta and Sperlonga and amazing fish restaurants. Ferries can be taken to the interesting nearby islands, Ponza or Ventotenne, smaller islands but well worth a visit.
There is an excellent train service to both Rome and Naples from Cassino.
Nearby Sora and Cassino there are local markets, well worth a visit, or just sit at one of the many local bars sipping coffee and people watch! In the evening, choose to dine in one of the many restaurants in the area, from country farmhouse, to fine dining, a distance of between five minutes to fifteen minutes. The local town of Atina is steeped in history and along with Sora were built before Rome. You will find prices much lower here compared to other parts of Italy! It is a part of Italy still undiscovered by tourists. Many people in the area speak English because of its connection with the UK and Ireland.
In the winter, ski resorts are within easy reach, Prato di Mezzo is a small resort about 30 minutes away. Pesscaselori in the Abruzzo’s, a typical mountain ski resort town, is over an hour’s drive.
All in all, there is so much to see and do within a 30 mile radius that you will leave here promising yourself a return visit as you will have only scraped the top of all that is yet to be discovered in the Val Di Comino!

Guests of this Farm House accommodation near the town of Sora, can fill their itinerary with plenty of area attractions and activities. Because of its positioning, most places of interest are within easy access �` so plan on visiting the nearby Abruzzo National Park which in summer is ideal for mountain trekking, bird watching, spotting bears, wolves and wild boar. The local Etruscan town of Atina is a 10 minute drive away, so guests can explore history which pre-dates even ancient Roman society. Other nearby towns which are well worth a visit are San Donato, Sora and numerous hamlets which let out onto spectacular views of the countryside.
